Workforce

WHY does Ameren have a responsibility to our workforce?

Our co-workers are our most valuable resource. Ameren would not exist without a well-trained, well-equipped team to carry out our shared mission: To Power the Quality of Life. Millions of people and thousands of businesses in Illinois and Missouri are counting on our people for dependable energy, 365 days a year.

That compels us to keep our workforce safe and well; to prepare them to perform under challenging conditions; and to provide opportunities for both personal and professional growth. At the same time, we must nurture the next generation of talent in order to sustain our company and drive innovation.

Priorities

  • Focus on safety excellence
  • Attract and retain top talent
  • Employee and leadership development
  • Culture and employee engagement

Ameren's workforce

At a time when our customers’ energy needs and expectations continue to rise—and as exciting technologies advance—Ameren has stepped up our focus on innovation. That starts with leveraging the expertise, knowledge and passion of our workforce. In 2016 our dedicated Innovation Action Teams moved into their new home, called “The Hub,” which was converted from former warehouse space near our St. Louis headquarters. Drone technology, electric vehicles, solar initiatives and digital strategies are just a few of the topics co-workers focus on at The Hub.
