- Ameren is an investor-owned utility whose stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Our shareholders are comprised of both institutional investors—including mutual funds, pension funds and retirement plans that invest on behalf of millions of participants—and individual investors. About 90% of Ameren’s employees are also shareholders.
- The strategic investments Ameren makes in regulated infrastructure (including reliability upgrades, environmental enhancements and service improvements for homes and businesses) create jobs. They also create value for customers, communities and shareholders.

ensures Ameren has the resources to meet energy needs in a safe, reliable, efficient and environmentally responsible manner.

help to keep Ameren’s borrowing costs down, which then help to keep our customers’ rates lower.
Profits go toward
projects that maintain and enhance electric and gas infrastructure. We also use them to pay dividends to shareholders, who help fund the infrastructure needed to keep the lights on and gas flowing.
