  • Our 8,600 co-workers benefit from an enhanced focus on well-being. Investing in well-being programs means co-workers and their families have support and resources to make choices to lead a healthy, fulfilling life. Ameren has strong senior leadership support of this effort and recently engaged an employee advisory committee to make recommendations on future programming.
  • The contractors Ameren utilizes are expected to provide a safe work environment for their employees and the general public. We engage them with our contractor safety program to assess best practices and identify pockets of excellence.
  • Our customers benefit every day as employees work hard to provide more reliable energy, reduce outages and restore power safely. It’s all part of our ongoing commitment to keep pace with future energy needs, as we proudly continue to serve, support and invest in the communities we call home.
  • Service members bring valuable experience to our company, including nuclear and technical knowledge. Ameren has been committed to hiring veterans since World War I; the company has hired 172 military veterans and spouses since 2012 alone.

Working out in the community

Our health plans offer free preventative care to support the well-being of our co-workers and their families. A professional wellness team is available, along with access to biometric screenings, on-site fitness facilities and gym discounts. We offer annual co-worker challenges designed to get people focused on physical activity, stress reduction and nutrition. Free, 24-hour counseling is offered for our co-workers and family members struggling with stress, addiction, grief and life-changing events.
